Good Beer....and Friends

Alright people,

I've got my buddy Brandon in town this weekend, so I figure let's show him some good beer. Going to crack  a 2012 Goose Island BCBS, a 2012 Founders Backwoods Bastard, and a Sierra Nevada Narwhal Imperial Stout. Yep, it's a barrel-aged and impy stout kinda night, and here to tell you about it, none other than Brandon himself:

Well, it's been a long few weeks with work and everything so I was excited to make a trip up to Purdue to see my buddy, Chris.  It also helps Turkeyfest is this weekend.  (If you don't know what it is, you can't afford to know about it)....   Anyways, back to beer.  I'm pretty green when it comes to beer tasting and all that, but I do know when a beer tastes good or absolutely terrible.  These are very flavorful beers.  Especially, for the whiskey lovers out there like myself in the case of the Bourbon County and Backwoods Bastard.  Surprisingly, the Bourbon County had a slight mixed taste between wine, whiskey, and beer.  Solid stuff, but definitely a sipper. Obviously, you can't ever go wrong with a beer named Backwoods Bastard.  It has full flavor, and it helps that it has been bourbon barrel aged.  Last, there is the Sierra Nevada.  If you've ever been able to experience Founders Breakfast Stout you will be able to notice the similarities.  Personally, Founders is much better, but as a whole the Sierra Nevada Narwhal Imperial was pretty good.  It lacked a little bit of the coffee taste that explodes with the Founders Breakfast Stout.

Aside from the beer, it should be an awesome weekend.  Chris is going to be whipped sadly on Saturday, but at least we get to hit the bars for an enjoyable Friday night with friends, booze, and women (not for Chris... they're for me).  Thank God we get to drink these beers, blog, and watch Duck Dynasty at the same time.  America is easily the greatest country because we have the freedom to do things such as this.  Time for a great night.  Y'all enjoy your weekend, be safe, and God bless.

-Brandon
