Time for a Serious Post....The Reds

Alight people,

As the 26 readers already know, I'm a Reds fan. And if you follow baseball at all, you know it's Division Series time, and you also know that I am a very happy Reds fan after 2 games in the Reds-Giants series.

Game 1 started out pretty terribly, with me tweeting and screaming my frustration with a buddy or two. Well, about 6 innings later, I was a pretty satisfied fan. I knew when Cueto went out with back spasms (side note, who didn't see that coming? he's been a little iffy the past 3 starts with his back) that the Reds would be good in the capable mustache of Sam Lecure. The big issue was how would they eat the middle innings? Well, the old Dust Ball's hand was forced into throwing Latos in SF (which he should have done to start with) and ole' Matty didn't disappoint.

Fast forward to game 2. We're sitting around in a scoreless game, I'm getting a little anxious that maybe the decent Reds offense of game 1 is gone, up to the plate strolls Ryan Ludwick. About 10 second before the first pitch is thrown, I say, and I quote, "Ludwick's going yak-city here." Yes, beer was involved, and no, I don't normally use the term "yak-city." Low and behold, first pitch, yak-city b****. It was a great call, followed by lots of screaming.

All of this being said, the Reds are up 2-0, but I'm still a little skeptical. The last time the Reds were good in the postseason, I was only a month or 2 old. I think the Reds will take care of business in the next 2 games, and I would love for it to be behind Homer Bailey in game 3. A sweep would be huge in preparing for Washington/St. Louis, especially in getting Cueto right again.

And now for the obligatory beer mention, since this is a beer blog technically. Tonight I grabbed a 6-pack of Founders Centennial IPA to watch baseball and football with. It's a Founders year-rounder that's always there, and I've never felt compelled to try it. Well, tonight I was feeling an IPA rather that a stout, which I've been on a kick with recently. Long story short, it's a great beer, and a solid IPA to session with some sports. Review here.

Until next time, cheers and go Reds!
-Chris

**Thanks to Hans for guest blogging our review last night and Mark for bringing over the St. Bernardus Abt. 12. It's one of those beers I've always wanted, but never bought to try.
